8th Feb Crowdfunding Consultation for Gallan Head

Poster asking people to support crowdfunding campaign

Hot Tap has been out in the Outer Hebrides recently to shoot our latest crowdfunding pitch video. We’re working with Gallan Head Community Trust to help them plan, promote and launch their crowdfunding campaign ‘Whales and Tea‘.
This will allow visitors to the Island the opportunity to have a cup of tea and listen to the whales through the installation of a marine hydrophone – a microphone designed to be used underwater for recording or listening to underwater sound.

23rd Sep HIE Toolkit and Webinar Published – Apply Now to Take Part!

call to action for crowdfunding project

We’re working with Highlands and Islands Enterprise to support community groups in the region who want to use crowdfunding to fund their projects as part of their awesome Crowdfunding Pilot. It’s been a pretty brilliant journey so far that’s seen us helping save endangered trees on Arran and sponsoring saplings at Tighnabruaich, and meeting some amazing community groups along the way. We’ve also had the chance to give talks on crowdfunding and alternative finance at events in Skye, Fort William and Stornaway, and through a virtually-packed-out webinar, and we have also written a pretty useful toolkit on crowdfunding for communities. And it’s not over yet!

We’re combining three of our favourite things – community, crowdfunding, and larking about outdoors – in an exciting new project that involves planting, and saving, trees in the Highlands & Islands. We’re working with Highlands & Islands Enterprise to help community groups use crowdfunding to achieve community projects. We will be working with three to four groups over the next few months, starting with Kilfinan Community Forest and Arran Community Land Initiative. Our role will be to help them plan, launch and promote crowdfunding campaigns that will benefit their projects and communities, and provide them with advice and content to help them make a splash.
