Hot Tap Media has now released SQUIDZ – a loyalty card for social media reach. Squidz changes digital marketing forever, giving brands the power to cut out the middleman and reward their fans directly. The app is a rewards system for high quality social media interactions, designed to enable brands to achieve a more direct relationship with fans, and encourage high quality interactions on social media.
Squidz is created by Rebecca Thompson, with front-end design and development by Tom Halfpenny, backend development by Crawford Tait, and branding by Willvan Gacita. The app is supported and funded by Design in Action.
In the initial launch we are working with four brands: Glasgow Film Theatre, Isle of Skye Brewing Company, La La Land and somewhereto_. The brands each set challenges to promote their chosen URLs and hashtags, and offer vouchers and store items in the Squidz store. Fans will then register to access these rewards via the Squidz mobile app, and can start earning Squidz by tweeting about the participating brand.
We have designed an innovative algorithm that measures reach, level of interactivity, and sentiment to reward the most powerful social media interactions. By ensuring that only the most authentic, positive interactions around your brand earn Squidz, we’re able to optimise the effectiveness of the brands’ digital marketing spend.
For fans, it’s an opportunity to earn rewards for their digital loyalty. We’re not talking discount codes here – fans can earn beer vouchers, cinema tickets, and Mrs Ryan Gosling pencils!
Squidz is so far only available on the App Store for iPhone, but we intend to roll out to Android in the future. Please download the app, give it a rating if you don’t mind, and start earning free stuff.
