Harvey Nick-Nacks Offers Offbeat Christmas Shopping

Harvey Nick Nacks kicked off today with a festive apron making workshop, marking the start of the run up to a very alternative Christmas. Harvey Nick Nacks is   a series of creative workshops taking place throughout November and December, culminating in the grand opening of a Pop Up Department Store at Argyle House, 37 Castle Terrace, on Thursday 12th December from 12pm until 5pm. The events will allow young people to get creative with Christmas, making their own festive essentials and stocking up on xmas gifts from local young designers.

somewhereto_ is a Big Lottery Funded project delivered in Scotland by Hot Tap Media, which has helped over 4000 young people access space and create connections across the UK since June 2010. The Scotland team will offer a range of creative workshops giving young people the chance to learn how to make their own wrapping paper, Christmas crackers and tote bags, and take part in a festive life drawing class. The workshops will lead up to a unique popup department storewith a difference, showcasing the home made wares of 18- 25 year olds.

Showcasing the cream of 18 -25 year old Scottish traders, Harvey Nick Nacks will exhibit their crafty showpieces in the midst of festive tunes and jolly Christmas movie favourites. Products and services on offer range from fashion and homewares to hair and makeup. Excited shoppers can expect homemade baked goods and upcycled gems, rustic wears, vintage steals, and other original gifts. Hide from the winter chill with our present making and wrapping corner. Sit on Santa’s lap, no matter if you have been naughty or nice. DJs and local bands will rock the Christmas classics and there will be a Secret Santa present for the early birds.
