Hot Tap has been out in the Outer Hebrides recently to shoot our latest crowdfunding pitch video. We’re working with Gallan Head Community Trust to help them plan, promote and launch their crowdfunding campaign ‘Whales and Tea‘.
This will allow visitors to the Island the opportunity to have a cup of tea and listen to the whales through the installation of a marine hydrophone – a microphone designed to be used underwater for recording or listening to underwater sound.

We’re working with Highlands and Islands Enterprise to support community groups in the region who want to use crowdfunding to fund their projects as part of their awesome Crowdfunding Pilot. It’s been a pretty brilliant journey so far that’s seen us helping save endangered trees on Arran and sponsoring saplings at Tighnabruaich, and meeting some amazing community groups along the way. We’ve also had the chance to give talks on crowdfunding and alternative finance at events in Skye, Fort William and Stornaway, and through a virtually-packed-out webinar, and we have also written a pretty useful toolkit on crowdfunding for communities. And it’s not over yet!

10th Jun WoodWorks Project Manager Wanted in Fife

WoodWorks is a new initiative to inspire, train and develop young people between 16 and 25 to enable them to create a living from the woods. The first course will begin with a week of  immersion on 19th July 2015 involving up to 20 young people, followed by a package of mentoring and support to help the participants set up their own woods-based enterprises. We’re now seeking workshop leaders as well as a talented Project Manager to bring this project to life.

We have a brand new opportunity for a passionate, creative individual to join Hot Tap as our somewhereto_ Project Manager in Edinburgh. somewhereto_ is a UK-wide Big Lottery Funded project that helps 16-25 year olds find free space to do what they love. It’s delivered in Edinburgh by Hot Tap Media, and we have transformed an empty office space in the centre of the city into a creative hub for young people. Argyle House is a fantastic building on Castle Terrace, which now includes a gallery space, theatre space and meeting room. We run this space in partnership with a sister organisation, Space Club, who also offer affordable studio and office style spaces to members.
